Alan Wake quadrology

Alan Wake is a game for X-Box 360 console from the Finnish game studio Remedy. It is about a writer, who goes to vacation with his wife Alice, to a small rural town called Bright Falls. His wife ends up missing, Alan has lost memories what he has been doing for the past week and he finds sheets of manuscript with his writing, and those writings are becoming reality before his own eyes. The townspeople are controlled at night by a dark presence and attack Alan every chance they get. Alan is forced to use light as his weapon, along with more convential firearms.

This summer Alan Wake forums announced a photo competition, where you could dress as the characters from the game or be otherwise creative. Only rule was that there had to be the Alan Wake game in the photos. Luckily we (me and my boyfriend) own the Limited Collectors Edition of the game, so the covers look like a book. I was a bit disappointed that we didn't win, but we had a blast shooting these images. We started at 3 a.m and finished at 5 a.m and all the photos are taken by us, using tripod and self timer.
We shot the pictures near our appartment complex.

These are scrapbooking versions of the photos, the original contest entry is the final collage photo. I intentionally kept the scrapbooking elements at minimum, since the pictures are so large.

It all started with a cup of joe.

Rose is a waiter at Oh Deer diner and is the biggest fan of Alan Wake.

Here you can see the menu more detailed. The paper is Cosmo Cricket's Halfway Cafe: Winona, the letters are American Crafts' Thickers Umbrella and Cream Soda. The boards are from The Complete Book of Scrapbooking and the deer and the button are from a geocache. I dyed the deer and the menu with walnut ink.

The next thing I knew, I was battling against possessed trucks and people.

Alan Wake's ally is sheriff Sarah Breaker.

The paper is Graphic 45, Pen in hand. The letters are Cosmo Cricket's Jolly by golly and American Crafts' Patchwork aqua. The chipboard patterns are Scenic Route's travel.

"The nordic walking increases stride length and walking speed!"

"I'm a lumberjack, and I'm okay. I sleep all night and I work all day."

The possessed people are called The Taken.

The paper is Prima Marketing Inc's "How I Roll". Letters are Cream Soda and chipboard is Travel.

Lights out.

The poem is my own, written originally 31.1.2005 but it fits perfectly to Alan Wake.
The paper is Diane's daughters Jade:Paisley, letters are from The Complete Book of Scrapbooking, chipboard is Travel.
